Mike Lagnese

Mike Lagnese is the Chief Financial Officer for TCM Bank. Prior to joining TCM, Mike was the SVP and CFO of Vast Bank, a portfolio company of Hard Yaka; a venture and private equity fund. His responsibilities included strategy and execution across all areas of finance, including FP&A, Controllership and Treasury. He led the successful acquisition and regulatory approval for the purchase of Vast Bank. Additionally, he provided leadership in the evaluation and negotiations for developing a best-in-class BaaS full stack technology platform.

Prior to this Mike was the SVP Strategy and Execution for Synchrony Financial Direct to Consumer. He has extensive experience as a strategic CFO with P&L ownership and a record of driving large transformations and transactions in the Payments & Financial Services industries.

Mike brings over 25 years of experience in increasingly responsible roles at Synchrony Financial and GE Capital Corp. In 2021, he led the massive digital transformation of Synchrony Bank (27th largest in the U.S.). Under his cross functional leadership (including treasury, credit, technology, business development, strategy, marketing, enterprise risk, and operations) the team was successful in delivering a best in class digital first Bank. Prior to this Mike was the CFO and Director on the Board of GE Capital Retail Bank where he was responsible for financial leadership of this $65B asset/$1.8B net income institution.

Other areas of Mike’s expertise include Capital Planning; M&A; Divestiture; Relationship Management; Talent Acquisition; Loss Avoidance; and Regulatory.

Prior to Synchrony and GE Capital, Mike held executive positions in the consumer finance organizations at First Union, NationsBank, and Greater NY Savings Bank. He began his career at KPMG as an auditor. Mike is graduate of St John’s University with a BS in Accounting.
